UPSC CAPF (AC) Exam Pattern
The UPSC CAPF (AC) Exam Pattern and Selection Procedure are given below.
I. Written Examination
The written exam will comprise 2 papers – Paper I and Paper II which will be 250 and 200 marks respectively. Paper-I would be of General ability and Intelligence and Paper II would be of General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension.
II. Physical Standards/ Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standard Tests
Candidates qualified in written exams will be called for Physical Standards/ Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standard Tests. The candidates who meet the prescribed Physical Standards will be put through the Physical Efficiency Tests as given below:-
100 Meters race | Males – In 16 seconds Females – In 18 seconds |
800 Meters race | Males – In 3 minutes 45 seconds Females – In 4 minutes 45 seconds |
Long Jump | Males – 3.5 meters (3 chances) Females – 3.0 meters (3 chances) |
Shot Put (7.26 Kgs.) | Males – 4.5 meters |
III. Interview/ Personality Test
Candidates qualified in Medical Standards Tests will be called for an Interview/ Personality Test that will carry 150 marks. Candidates shortlisted for the Interview/ Personality Test will be issued a Detailed Application Form (DAF) in which among other things, they will be required to indicate their preference of Forces.
IV. Final Selection/ Merit
The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Exam and Interview/ Personality Test.
UPSC CAPF (AC) Exam Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who wish to apply for UPSC CAPF (AC) should ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria. To be eligible for CAPF (AC) Exam the candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a University or other educational institution or possess an equivalent qualification.
UPSC CAPF (AC) Exam Syllabus
UPSC CAPF (AC) Written Exam comprises 2 papers – Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper I comprises objective questions on General Ability and Intelligence. In Paper II, candidates will be required to write an Essay in Part A and attempt Precis, Comprehension, and other communications/ language skills. In Paper II, Essay questions are to be answered in the long narrative form either in English or Hindi totalling 80 marks. The indicative topics that can be given to the candidates are Modern Indian History especially the freedom struggle, Geography, Analytical Ability, Polity and Economy, and Knowledge of Security and Human Rights Issues.
